fred cook and team

 

fred introduced his crew to the bounty of the lake. a limit catch was had by 1pm. at first i thought i had the peta group as a lot of the first fish were released back to the lake. after having a prayer meeting, limits started rolling in the boat. fred scored a 29 in fish ohio and bill had a 28. great day fishing the starve island break.

ron martin and team

 

great day for the martin team despite the rookie netter who will go unnamed except for his new nickname ...flipper! limit catches both ways, drifting in rough water south of kelly's island and trolling the second day provide limit catches for this central pennsylvania team. brad and sean kept the team in order, next year a trip west (route 2) may be in the cards. great trip for a fun crew.

randy williamson

 

this new team had a banner day on the lake. fishing at the 00 line, they made short work in getting a limit catch. what started off as 3-4 foot waves gave way to a bluebird sky and clm waters. the walleye did their part as the were very friendly to the purple spoon category.

larry rediemier and team.

 

rough water did not hinder this team. 350 lbs in three days. limit catches each day. larry senior provided the guidance the guys needed.

roger kokoski and crew

 

roger's crew were up the the challenge on a windy and cold day. the crew got some additional help from bryan as he provide the chum needed. at the end of the day the guys told him what a good time he had and how they appreciated catching his fish. bryan has put in his request for calm seas next trip. limit catch was had trolling off the nw corner of kelly island.

paul solley crew scores

 

cool weather but the walleyes were on for the solley crew. paul was on his game and limited both days. trolling spoons on 50 phoo bear jets at 35 and 45 back was the play of the day. the crew is looking forward to their fall trip!

green island produces great day!

 

friday was a great day for the graybar electric fishing outing. a limit catch was had fishing close to green island. randy kimmel was placed in the time out chair three times but recovered well to end the day with a 28 inch walleye. total for the day was 36 fish, 133lbs. trolling spoons again at depths of 22 to 25 feet. the group is looking forward to their next outing, randy will paratice this summer in his spanking techniques as well as his assistant netter, first time on the lake and only one time out for missing a fish. great day for all.

buckholt scores again!

 

jim buckholt and his crew scored big on the lake this week. jim's crew landed 36 fish weighing in at 146lbs. 7 fish ohio walleye were caught. jim's crew fished near middle island.all fish this day were caught trolling spoons, 20 to 25 feet deep behind 5f0 jets with the pooh bear release.

good weather=good fishing!

 

stable weather sunday produced good catches. winds were south at >5 knots, temps in the mid 60 degree range. trolling stinger spoons behind 50 jets with phoo bear release produced a great day for the buckholt crew from pa. at the end of the day the 5 man crew had 30 walleye totaling 146lbs. we were fishing just below the internalional line west of middle island.

limit catch today, the early bite started on reef runners but as the day progressed, spoons became the lure of choice. trolling speed of 1.2 knots to 1.7, 50 jets with the pooh bear releases 35 back were hot. water was stained to dirty, lake was calm with winds of 5 knots or less. the fish were an average of 5 lbs. with the biggest just over 27". looks like a the start of a great season!

jig fishing

 

early fishing on the reefs has started. warm 69 degree weather, light winds from the south. an early bite on the reef area produced fish verticle jigging with purple hair jigs and pimples tipped with minnows. water clarity was clear in the west and stained in the island area. fishing will continue to improve as the water warms.
